Three and easy for Querrey, American powers to Farmers title in just 51 minutes

Written By Unknown on Sabtu, 04 Agustus 2012 | 03.37

Sam Querrey eased to his third Farmers Classic title with a 6-0 6-2 victory over Lithuanian first-time finalist Ricardas Berankis in Los Angeles.

The 24-year-missed missed the tournament in 2011 due to wrist surgery but claimed back-to-back titles in 2009 and 2010 before adding a third in style on Sunday.

The Southern California native, in his first final appearance since winning the Farmers Classic two years ago, needed just 18 minutes to wrap up the first set.

Querrey won the first nine games of the match, facing down double break point at 2-0 in the second set, before Berankis won a game.

The match lasted just 51 minutes and was the first ATP Tour final to feature a Lithuanian player.

Speaking afterwards, Querrey revealed playing in front of his friends and family had helped him record a 13th straight win at the tournament.

"I feel like I always play well here," Querrey said on the ATP Tour website.

"I grew up kind of playing around this area and I'm really comfortable out there on the courts.
"It's fun to play in front of my friends and family. It all came together this week, and especially today."
